VenueBase wasn't born in a startup incubator or from venture capital dreams. It was born from frustrationโthe kind you feel at 2am when you're manually building next week's rota in a spreadsheet, hoping you don't have a conflict.
Philip Martin spent years managing hospitality venues across the UK. He saw the same problems everywhere: rota chaos creating stress and late-night cancellations, compliance nightmares that kept managers awake at night, spreadsheets multiplying like rabbits, and training records scattered across sticky notes and emails.
There had to be a better way. So in 2026, in partnership with local hospitality companies who understood these challenges intimately, VenueBase was built. Not by consultants looking in from outside, but by people who've worked the floorโfor everyone who still does.
We didn't try to create a one-size-fits-all enterprise solution that costs a fortune and requires a PhD to operate. We built something simple, purposeful, and designed specifically for how UK hospitality venues actually work. Something that reduces stress, saves time, and keeps everyone on the same page.
